A Cleaner, Brighter, More Mad-Science Maker Zone
If you’ve ever looked at your resin 3D printing area and thought, “Wow… this looks like the aftermath of a boss fight,” then you know exactly why today’s workshop upgrade was long overdue. My resin station has slowly evolved into a chaotic cross between a dungeon encounter and a science fair gone wrong — so it was time for a full transformation.
And yes, the centerpiece of this entire overhaul is my absolute favorite resin printer: the Anycubic Photon Mono M7 Pro. But we’ll get to that in a minute.
Framing the Space
Before any upgrades could happen, I had my daughter and her boyfriend help frame out the back of the workbench. I offered to pay them a cut of what this video would make… but since that would probably total around 37 cents, they wisely went with an hourly rate instead.
Moral of the story: Subscribe — it helps keep my child labor costs reasonable.
The Wall Control Pegboard Upgrade
The first major change was covering the entire back wall with Wall Control metal pegboard.
Why Wall Control?
-
It’s metal — so it wipes clean easily
-
Perfect for resin splashes and drips
-
Lets me hang every funnel, scraper, filter, glove, box, and tool I constantly lose
-
Instantly transforms the area from “Mad Scientist Chaos Table” to “Professional Resin Lab… still run by a mad scientist”
This alone made the space visually cleaner and functional instead of cluttered and stressful.
Lighting That Belongs in a Sci-Fi Lab
To match the new organization, I added extra lighting — enough that the space now looks like it’s ready to bring a robot to life. Better lighting means better workflow, better visibility, and fewer “where did I put that?” moments.
The Workhorses: Elegoo Machines Still Going Strong
On the bench, I’ve got the classics:
-
Elegoo Mars 3
-
Elegoo Saturn
-
Elegoo Wash and Cure Station
These machines have served me well and they’re staying right where they are. They’re reliable, consistent, and perfect for everyday resin work.
But the Hero of the Zone:
Anycubic Photon Mono M7 Pro
This is the machine everything else now revolves around.
The M7 Pro has:
-
A massive build volume
-
Beautiful print quality
-
Speed and consistency
-
The perfect balance for large terrain pieces, highly detailed minis, props, and intricate builds
It’s quickly becoming my go-to resin printer for big projects and detailed parts.
The New Resin Corner of the MakerBuildIt Shop
Everything in this upgraded workspace — the lighting, the organization, the layout — is dialed in specifically for resin 3D printing. It’s clean, organized, efficient, and finally ready for the ridiculous builds I have planned.
And trust me…
I’ve got some big resin projects on the way that are perfect for the M7 Pro.
The chaos is gone. The mad science remains.
And the MakerBuildIt resin zone is officially ready for action.
