DeWalt Adjustable Shop Stool with Casters: Assembly and First Impressions

A shop stool is a small addition that can make a workbench area more useful. For this workshop build, I unboxed and assembled the DeWalt Adjustable Shop Stool with Casters, model DXSTAH025, then tried it on the shop floor.

The setup was quick, and the stool brought together three useful features: an adjustable seat, a rolling base, and a tray for keeping small tools nearby.

What comes in the box?

The main pieces shown in the unboxing are the base, center post, and seat, along with the instructions. One welcome detail is that the casters are already installed on the base. There is no need to attach each wheel before putting the stool together.

Simple assembly

In the video, I place the center post into the base and fit the seat onto the post. The instructions look straightforward, and the assembly comes together quickly.

The video shows the process from unboxing to the assembled stool, so you can see how the main parts fit together.

Adjustable height and a tool tray

A lever underneath the seat controls the height. In the demonstration, the adjustment raises the seat by about four inches, bringing it to a useful height for our workbench.

The tray near the base provides a place to keep small tools close at hand. It is a practical detail for jobs where you want to sit at the bench and keep the tools you are using nearby.

First impressions in the workshop

The seat material feels sturdy in this initial look. After assembly, I try the stool on our uneven shop floor, where it appears to roll smoothly.

My first impression is positive: it is easy to assemble, the height adjusts, and the casters make it easy to move around the work area. These are observations from the setup and short demonstration in the video.
