I asked my wife how many likes it would take for me to go to Mecum and try to buy my dream truck. Turns out, I’m going anyway.
I’ve been looking for one of these trucks for more than two years. Every time a promising one comes up, the same thing seems to happen: it sells before I can get to it, or the price is way beyond my budget.
Two years of searching
Finding the truck is only part of the challenge. Finding one that’s available when I can actually go see it—and at a price I can afford—has been the frustrating part. After more than two years of looking, I’m ready to give the auction a try.
Heading to Mecum
So I’m heading to the Mecum auction to see if I can finally bring one home. There’s no guarantee the numbers will work out. Will I actually be able to afford it? Probably not. But I’m going to try.
This is the start of that attempt. I’m excited to go, see what happens, and find out whether this could finally be the chance I’ve been waiting for. Wish me luck.
