How to Make Bubbleless Resin D&D Dice!

How to Make Bubbleless Resin D&D Dice!

Welcome to another episode of Maker Build It, where creativity meets craft. I'm Bryan DeLuca, and today we're diving into the fascinating world of resin dice making. Our focus is on a peculiar product Resiners Bubble Remover with incredibly mixed reviews. Curiosity piqued by the starkly contrasting feedback on Amazon, I decided to give this device a try.

Unpacking the Mystery

Upon unboxing, we find the main components: the tub and the top, which together create what seems to be a vacuum seal meant to suck out all the bubbles from our resin mix. The package includes some handy extras like mixing cups and a power cord—always appreciated.

The Resin Test

Safety first, as we always say here at Maker Build It, so on go the rubber gloves before handling any resin. We're using a two-part resin from Michaels, carefully weighing equal parts of Part A and Part B. Despite the intention to remove bubbles, initial mixing introduces some, so into the resonator it goes.

Does the Resonator Deliver?

After a five-minute session in the bubble remover, there are still bubbles visible—a disappointing revelation. Could the type of resin be the culprit? We decide to run a second test with a different brand of resin to eliminate any variables. Still, even after following all recommended steps, bubbles persist. This leads us to question if the device adds more bubbles than it removes, despite its promises.

Second Chances and Final Thoughts

Persistence is key in crafting, so we don’t give up there. A second round of testing with adjustments based on the initial failings offers a glimmer of hope. The results are marginally better, suggesting a potential mismatch between our techniques or the resin types used and the device's capabilities.

A Mixed Bag

Concluding our testing, the resonator's bubble remover seems to struggle with completely eliminating bubbles from our resin mixtures, even to the claimed 99% mark. While it shows some promise under certain conditions, the results are inconsistent. Priced at approximately $139, the value proposition is questionable, especially for novices in resin art like myself. For those deeply entrenched in the craft, a more extensive trial might yield better insights.
